Brighton Youth Centre, Brighton

Brighton Youth Centre has been providing youth services in the city from its Edward Street home for more than a century. The project involved a major redevelopment of the existing centre, with a substantial part of the original 1960s building demolished and rebuilt, while the retained eastern section was comprehensively refurbished. 

The transformed facility provides a modern, fully accessible environment incorporating a sports hall, rehearsal and performance spaces, dance and art studios, digital facilities, counselling rooms and a refurbished and extended indoor skatepark. The redevelopment has created a contemporary and inclusive hub designed to support youth services and activities for future generations. 

Delta Green worked closely with Brighton Youth Centre throughout the redevelopment, developing the RIBA Stage 4 Technical Building Services Design for both the new-build and refurbished elements of the scheme. Delta Green also managed the BREEAM process, acting as both BREEAM Assessor and Advisory Professional (AP) to support the project in achieving its sustainability objectives. Delta Green continued to support the scheme throughout construction, monitoring the building services works and BREEAM requirements to ensure the completed development was delivered in accordance with the design and Client’s requirements.
