Coburg Street, Portsmouth

Stanley Studios is a purpose-built student accommodation development, located on Coburg Street in central Portsmouth. The scheme provides 126 self-contained studio apartments, each with private en-suite and kitchen facilities, together with shared amenity and communal spaces for residents. Located close to the University of Portsmouth and the city centre, the development was designed to provide modern, high-quality student accommodation within a compact urban site.

Delta Green were appointed to support the scheme from conception through to completion. The original design was developed around a modular construction strategy, which subsequently evolved to a traditional build approach as the project progressed. Delta Green completed the RIBA Stage 3 Performance Design and continued to support the project throughout construction, monitoring the works to ensure the completed development met the Client’s requirements.

The scheme was successfully delivered on programme, ready for the September 2023 student intake, providing a high-quality, contemporary student accommodation development with a range of amenity facilities including an on-site gym and cinema room. Delta Green also supported the sustainability objectives of the project, including the BREEAM assessment and energy modelling, helping to ensure the required environmental and energy performance standards were achieved.
