Lakeside Country Park, Eastleigh
Lakeside Centre, Lakeside Country Park was developed as a new visitor and activity hub for Eastleigh Borough Council, replacing outdated facilities and providing modern accommodation to support the park’s growing recreational, educational and watersports activities. Set within the unique lakeside environment of Lakeside Country Park, the development comprises a visitor centre, café, education and community spaces, public amenities and activity support facilities, creating a focal point for one of Eastleigh’s most popular leisure destinations.
Delta Green was appointed directly by Eastleigh Borough Council to deliver the detailed Building Engineering Services design, including the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) services. Working as part of the wider consultant team, Delta Green developed fully coordinated building services solutions that met the operational requirements of the visitor, catering and activity spaces while remaining sensitive to the building’s environmentally significant setting.
A key objective of the project was to create a highly sustainable and energy-efficient facility that integrated seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The building incorporated passive design principles, maximising natural daylight and natural ventilation to reduce operational energy demand while maintaining occupant comfort. The services design complemented the building’s low-profile architectural form and green roof construction, helping to minimise its visual impact within the country park environment.
Working closely with the client and wider design team, Delta Green provided detailed technical consultancy throughout the design process and subsequently monitored the installation works on site, reviewing quality and compliance with the design intent while supporting the project team through commissioning and handover to help ensure the successful delivery of this landmark public facility for Eastleigh Borough Council.
