BREEAM & WELL Assessments
Delivering healthier, more sustainable buildings through certified performance
BREEAM & WELL
Every project has its own sustainability ambitions, certification targets, and wellbeing objectives. Our BREEAM and WELL experts work closely with clients and design teams from the earliest stages of a project, providing clear guidance on how to achieve desired ratings whilst balancing cost, programme, and performance requirements.
From developing sustainability strategies and managing certification processes to coordinating evidence and assessing design compliance, our specialists help teams navigate every stage of the assessment journey. By identifying opportunities early and integrating sustainable, occupant-focused solutions into the design, we help projects achieve their environmental and wellbeing goals, enhance asset value, and create healthier, more sustainable spaces for building users.
BREEAM
Our BREEAM Assessors have many years combined experience, working on a range of exciting projects and achieving challenging ratings. These projects can indeed range from an existing historical building refurbishment, to the masterplanning of mixed use new build development. We aim to be involved as early as possible in the procurement process, to ensure that the necessary design principles are adopted at the early stages, assisting in the desired ratings being achieved. We acknowledge the perceived difficulties associated with achieving BREEAM standards, however with the knowledge, communication and a robust strategy that our BREEAM team brings to the table, you can be sure of a seamless and efficient certification process.
We typically include our BREEAM AP service free of charge when appointed as BREEAM Assessors on a full project from Pre-Application to Post Construction Certification. This enables a seamless and efficient approach, where the project team have just the one point of direct contact. From provision of supporting templates, availability for virtual meetings, to the extensive experience we have in the team, this represents our collaborative and proactive approach.

BREEAM Associated Services
In addition to our BREEAM Assessor and Accredited Professional (AP) services, we offer a comprehensive range of complementary sustainability services designed to both inform and influence the sustainable design of a building or development, whilst maximising opportunities for BREEAM credit achievement.
These services typically include early-stage sustainability reviews, design advisory reporting and dynamic simulation modelling, allowing potential risks, constraints and opportunities to be identified at the earliest stages of a project. By engaging with the design team from the outset, we can help secure a number of straightforward, low-risk BREEAM credits that can effectively be considered “banked” early in the assessment process, providing greater certainty around the overall target rating and reducing reliance on more challenging or higher-risk credits later in the project lifecycle.
This proactive approach not only strengthens the project’s sustainability strategy but also helps to de-risk BREEAM delivery, improve design decision-making and create a clear roadmap for achieving the desired certification outcome. Early credit achievement can provide valuable confidence to clients, project teams and stakeholders, ensuring sustainability objectives are embedded from the outset and maintained throughout the design and construction process.
Our associated services align with the requirements of the applicable BREEAM 2014, 2018, Version 6 and Version 7 schemes and can support credit achievement across a wide range of assessment categories.

WELL
With the current drive towards a more sustainable future, it’s easy for us as an industry to forget what is at the heart of everything we do, people! At Delta Green, we remain people-centric in our approach to sustainable building consultancy.
A WELL Certification complements BREEAM by putting health, wellbeing and human experience at the centre of the built environment. Whilst BREEAM focuses on environmental performance and sustainability, WELL looks at how buildings support the people using them every day – from air quality, lighting and thermal comfort to movement, mental wellbeing and community.
As organisations place greater focus on ESG, employee wellbeing and social value, WELL is becoming increasingly relevant to developers, investors, employers, landlords and occupiers alike. It provides a practical framework for creating healthier, more comfortable and more productive spaces, while aligning naturally with wider sustainability goals and many of the principles already embedded within BREEAM.
One of WELL’s key strengths is its flexibility. Clients can pursue WELL Certification for individual projects or apply WELL across portfolios and organisations through WELL at Scale. For those looking to focus on specific priorities, WELL Ratings offer targeted pathways around themes such as health and safety, performance and equity. This allows organisations to align their approach with their specific goals – whether centred on workplace wellbeing, ESG ambitions, operational performance or occupant experience.
Our WELL AP’s support projects from inception through to delivery, helping clients identify opportunities, maximise synergies with BREEAM and sustainability objectives, and pursue certification in a practical and tailored way.
